The presentation addresses the topic of digital competences, which are crucial for quality of life and the labour market. The author highlights the diversity of definitions and needs related to digital literacy depending on age and occupational groups. The theoretical and practical approaches to measuring these skills are also discussed, as well as challenges such as the heterogeneity of research tools or the lack of comparative research. The summary points to the need to develop new tools for research and digital education.
Ranked among the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists in 2022 (Stanford University and Elsevier ranking), Łukasz Tomczyk is a professor at the Institute of Pedagogy at Jagiellonian University in Poland. He holds a doctorate in philosophy (PhDr) from Charles University in Prague, and a PhD in social sciences with a focus on pedagogy (media education, social pedagogy) from the Pedagogical University in Krakow. In addition, he is also a computer science engineer. He is the author of seven monographs and over 220 scientific articles, as well as the editor of 15 collective monographs. His research interests include media and information education, the information society, and lifelong learning.
