AI as a student assistant | Magdalena Těžká, Denisa Lysáková

The team project focuses on the issue of organizing study obligations in relation to student wellbeing. The students identified the problem of an overwhelming amount of information at the beginning of each semester and the difficulty of navigating deadlines, exams, and other study obligations scattered across the information system.

The result is the concept of "Professor Lišák" - an interactive AI mascot that would appear across the MUNI information system and alert students to upcoming events, deadlines, and important dates. The mascot would function as a personalized assistant with the option to turn off or limit functions for users who do not need it.

The project emphasizes practicality and user-friendliness, taking into account the different needs of students and respecting their autonomy in deciding on the level of support from the AI assistant.

Ethics: Analysis using Ethical Canvas identified key risks, including privacy and secure data handling, preventing excessive dependence on AI, ensuring equal access for all students regardless of socioeconomic background, and transparency of AI decision-making.
