MMA – Ministry Methodological Assistant | Petr Havlíček
AI assistant for project managers in the field of European funds.
The project focuses on the growing phenomenon of news avoidance – that is, actively avoiding news coverage. The target group is selective "news avoiders" who avoid certain types of news, as well as digitally literate users. The project seeks ways to use AI to help media houses reach these audiences in a more sensitive way: through personalized news selection that takes into account information needs and mental well-being, appropriate formats (audio, video, text, etc.), explanatory context, and information linking.
The result is the EchoConnect service, which combines AI personalization with a strategy against information bubbles. The project also includes a clickable MVP prototype and a test chatbot for setting up a news profile. Users can set up their own news profile, but the system automatically includes news outside their comfort zone to prevent them from becoming trapped in information bubbles.
The project has gradually evolved from a broad topic to a specific solution and includes comprehensive research, prototyping, ethical analysis, and the creation of a promotional video. It includes an interactive dashboard with data visualization on the phenomenon of news avoidance and a functional application created using AI tools.
Ethics: The project comprehensively addresses ethical aspects using Tarot Cards of Tech and its own code of ethics. It focuses primarily on the reliability of responses, transparency of sources, protection against misuse, and maintaining human control. It proposes measures such as mandatory disclaimers, source citations, the possibility of feedback, and restrictions against excessive reliance on AI.
