Design of Information Services
We listen to users. We suggest improvements. We create solutions together. We envision services as solutions to users' and customers' problems, based on their maximum understanding and created in collaboration with them. We do not only transfer competences in the processes of designing, implementing, managing and evaluating services and innovations theoretically, we emphasize the real experience of the design process, its methods and work based on design thinking.
Innovation doesn't just happen. They come from curiosity, empathy, humility, creativity and the ability to follow through. That's why we use design thinking and a project-based approach in our teaching and service design.
Study profilation builds in students an understanding of the process of putting new ideas into practice. Above all, the pillars of knowledge and skills that students take away are the basic principles of innovation management and its practical concepts. Currently, profiling is mainly oriented toward social innovations, which can also take the form of technological solutions.
We strive to critically evaluate service and product design trends, collaborating with Czech and foreign experts in service and product design, user experience and user research. In addition to project management, these are the main possible applications for graduates of the profile in their innovation-oriented careers.
We have been involved in service design and user research since 2012. There is no similar comprehensive training programme focusing on service design in the Czech Republic yet.
About the study
Our teaching courses, as well as our practice-oriented projects, are based on design thinking methodologies. It is important to touch and experience working with methods and tools at all stages of the design process - mapping, research, analysis, design, testing and service delivery. In particular, a holistic approach to learning about innovation will ensure greater applicability and sustainability than simply prioritizing innovation theory. In different areas of design, we provide students with exposure to current topics and contemporary experts in the world of public and commercial services.
