Visualisation and presentation of information

Goethe said, "Everyone should listen to a little music every day, read a poem, look at a good picture, and if possible, say a few sensible words." Combining different kinds of media is essential to the creative intellect of man. That is also why it should be given due attention, even though our Western European intellectual culture is a one of the written word.

Therefore, in this part of the course, we will look at some topics that offer a bridge between word and image, data and understanding, and statistics and stories. This is by no means exhaustive, but we will try to show at least some possible approaches.
