MOOC are open courses, that anyone can enrol in. They are based on the idea that educational methods can be found that allow people to study in (on the order of hundreds or thousands) without having to be directly monitored by a tutor or other teacher. These courses can be written by individuals, corporations, or large universities with specific educational material they want to disseminate.

Upon completion of the course, the student will receive a certificate, though you usually have to pay for it if you want it to be authorized. Even if you don't pay, there's nothing to stop you from taking a screenshot of the "congratulations" and putting it on the web, or at least putting a recording of it there of your graduation. These courses don't usually carry much formal accreditation, but they do allow the employer to see that you are keen to learn something extra.

In general, can be distinguished into synchronous ones that have the character of a classical weekly course, which usually lasts 4-12 weeks requiring the user to study regularly, complete assignments or tests, and in order to keep up with the pace and readiness. Another form is asynchronous courses, which have predefined content and can be taken virtually any time.

MOOCs allow you to supplement your professional profile quickly and cheaply with competences or knowledge your studies do not usually offer. You can take them during your studies but also at any other time, making them an easy way to continue educating yourself throughout life.

A significant problem with MOOC courses is the failure rate. If you want to increase your chances of completing the course (from an average of 5-10%), give it a try:
