KISK is committed to educating and preparing individuals that will enhance effectiveness of the decision-making process of any organization through high-quality data analysis based on ICT, data management and project management knowledge and skills.

Being able to work with data and information is one of the most sought after competences in the 21st century. The way how people and organizations use information is dramatically changing. Anyone who is able to "see in data" gains a competitive advantage. To be a data analyst means to transform data into information and information into specific knowledge serving as a means for achieving change and progress by individuals, organizations and the entire society.

Data are collected not only by mobile operators, business chains, insurance companies, banks, pharmaceutical companies, internet firms or national security agencies worldwide. An analysis and interpretation of these data will soon become imperative to strategic decision-making of all businesses and corporations.

On 22 November 2014, the DataConf conference was successfully held by KISK together with the Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology. DataConf was the first conference in the Czech Republic concerned with data analysis and data science.
